Adrian Ghenie
Globally acclaimed painter of history's ghosts in smeared, cinematic paint.
Ghenie studied in Cluj and co-founded Galeria Plan B. His dramatic canvases, built with palette knives and transfers, revisit 20th-century history — Hitler, Darwin, Van Gogh, Duchamp — as dreamlike, damaged memories. He represented Romania at the 2015 Venice Biennale with 'Darwin's Room'.
