Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck
Muralist and the first woman professor at a European fine-arts academy.
Trained in Munich and Paris, Cuțescu-Storck became a major decorative muralist of interwar Romania. In 1916 she was appointed professor at the Bucharest School of Fine Arts — the first woman to hold such a post in Europe. Her house in Bucharest, shared with sculptor Frederic Storck, is now the Storck Museum.
