Painter, graphic artist and critic, Șirato founded the 'Group of Four' in 1925 with Tonitza, Ștefan Dimitrescu and sculptor Oscar Han. His soft, vibrating colour and calm compositions — girls from Muscel, Balchik landscapes, still lifes — are among the finest of the interwar period.
