Ana Lupaș
Textile and land-art pioneer working with Transylvanian village rituals.
Lupaș's 'Humid Installation' (1970) involved villagers drying hand-woven cloth in the landscape. Her 'Solemn Process' (1964–2008) followed wreaths of straw made with villagers for decades, later cast in metal. Her work joins rural ritual with conceptual art; it has been shown at Tate Modern and is in its collection.
